musing

A 10k buzz floor to get your checkpoint enabled on the site is absurd. There is essentially no way for any new creator to get the buzz necessary to hit that without spending a ton of real money to buy buzz just to lose it all for a single week of being usable on the site.

This issue is made worse by the fact that there are well established creators who are able to drop 20k on each of their checkpoints, taking up 16 SLOTS , all at 20k buzz, forcing the floor higher, and taking up nearly 10% of the potential checkpoint slots.

And in my opinion, these checkpoints are not meaningfully distinct. I tested them to see (excluding some that are the same checkpoint, but alternate versions)

These are the results

I would say maybe five of them actually look like they aren't just standard variation you'd get from any checkpoint running the same prompts.

How is anyone new supposed to get their work used in this system?

This may feel like it's taking shots directly at Crody. But he's not the only big creator that does something similar. He just has, by far, the most checkpoints, and because he's the #1 base model creator, he's the most able to force the buzz floor to the ridiculous height it's at now.
