Sneak Peek: Dataset Tools feature creep!
Features that are on different branches waiting for testing and PR's that I won't zip up and send in just because there's a lot of code cleanup to do before fully committing to the next release. But if you're an advanced user you're welcome to track my branch stupidity and take a look!
First of all this app is OVER a year old now, and it's been thanks to community members and previous help from Exdysa (Whom I know we don't talk to anymore for reasons, but you have to thank those that came before even if there's no connection anymore.) and current help from Quadmoon (traugdor90 i think ... or 40 ... .... wtf's your username on here XD)... As well as many others. This list would be LARGER if i were to count how many people's images I downloaded to attempt to expand and fix the ComfyUI ecosystem metadata extraction on our app... So whoever makes amazing flux and chroma and lumina images: you flippin rock!
We are coming into some freaking cool features that people have asked for:
Sorting. - This ... needs some work still because this just goes "YAY ALPHABETICAL" and kinda drives me nuts a bit but it's logical?
THUMBNAIL VIEW IS FINALLY COMING!!! - Did a refactor prototype, and it may never have worked until I realized "Just ask an LLM to see if it can fit in the current code"
Themes - THIS HAS MUCH Better layout now, with button selection - and i've started to remove some of my dumbass 2am "BARF" themes. Look, i'm sure i'll bring some of them back but i'll likely make a new category for them and just make sure they're not horrid rainbow gemini gradients. This now also has a FILE TREE view WITH search. If you make custom QSS themes they're easily drop-inable.
Far more solid ComfyUI extraction - it's NOT PERFECT, i'm aware that the numpy system is probably stupid AF. But it stays until someone can untangle the stupid. Because everytime I do a MAJOR refactor - untangling my stupid breaks everything.
METADATA EDITING IS COMING BACK! - FOR NOW IT IS ONLY FOR PNG, JSON AND TEXT. Its not that i won't take Webp/Jpeg etc -- it's that basically trying to finagle that on top of the fact that I want to clean up dead code -- means that it may be a few months!
AND NOW FOR THE AMAZING SCREENSHOTS (warning I'm pretty sure these are bad color themes)
Screenshots of the refactor prototype that lead us to getting the thumbnail view (btw, I will actually publish the code for the refactor seperate as like a framework -- because it's quite nice but it's also janky -- but it's minimal code so if someone feels like forking Dataset tools and making their own it's a good start code with less of my janky vibe code!)
