Hebo Shangui

(Regular character images and him represented in old art from scrolls and books)
More of a title than a name Hebo Shangui, the River Earl Mountain Spirit, is a powerful, almost godlike spirt, that can be a tricky character to deal with. He has existed since the beginning of time, even represented in old art. He can appear in as variety of forms from a mighty dragon to more humanoid forms depending on his mood and whims. Often vengeful and capricious he dislikes those that trespass his realm such as bridging his river without his leave or mining in the mountains and polluting. He often speaks in poetic riddles that require careful interpretation. Nonetheless he can bring great fortune to those that are respectful and honor him with ritual and song.
