Inside a gigantic abandoned hydroelectric facility, a single broken turbine chamber has become a self-sustaining wetland. Sunlight enters through collapsed concrete hundreds of feet overhead, feeding tall reeds, small trees, flowering plants, moss, shallow clear pools, frogs, insects, and nesting birds growing around rusted machinery. The rest of the industrial complex disappears into cavernous darkness, with silent pipes and enormous corroded mechanisms stretching beyond visibility. No humans remain. A low viewpoint near the waterline makes the plants feel immediate while the architecture towers overhead like artificial cliffs. Mixed graphite, watercolor, and scraped acrylic on heavy paper, oxidized metal browns, charcoal blacks, vivid natural greens, reflective pools, powdery concrete textures, bright shafts of dusty sunlight, and a visual tension between monumental decay and quietly flourishing life.
