vtxcosymarkers, A small horned creature waters a bed of sleeping black bats, each hanging upside down from the stem of a white bellflower. It wears an oversized knitted cardigan and carries a dented copper watering can; the stream of water becomes a fine shower of glowing stars before reaching the flowers. The creature's round face is serious with concentration. Frame the garden close, keeping three bat-flowers clearly readable against a large dark leaf. A crescent of cool light catches the horns, opposed by warm copper reflections. A richly textured gouache illustration on charcoal paper, restrained ivory and oxidized green, with the strange botanical ritual treated as an ordinary evening chore.
