Sundblom p painting depicting the evacuation of a group of children from London to the English countryside during the Second World War. The children and adults huddled together on a rain-soaked street. In the foreground, three boys in short trousers and dress shoes are interacting with a girl, who appears to be shielding herself from the rain with a paper. The boys exhibit various expressions of curiosity and concern. In the background, an adult couple, a man in a police uniform and a woman in a formal dress, engage in an animated discussion, perhaps concerning the children's activities. The surrounding environment has a moody atmosphere accentuated by dark, overcast skies and tree silhouettes, while reflections on the wet pavement add depth to the composition. The scene is set in countryside of England in late Summer of 1940..<lora:HSundblom1-000003:1>
