Fake queue? Im confused as can be please explain this.

I've recently noticed that when I generate my images, they will briefly appear only mid generation and when I try to click on them, they won't work, and when all the images finish generating, they will all turn to black and then after refresh will have the "queue message on them". Why is there a fake queue message when I can even go as far as to screenshot it before and after.
