Delay autoplay gifs in grid views until hovered

A trend I've been seeing more is for static image models to use gifs in their display image. I get it, they're eyecatching and flashy, but it's starting to make browsing uncomfortable, and it's only going to get worse.

Would love if the gifs in any grid views (outside of the main model page) would only play when being hovered over. Maybe with a little play icon in the bottom left to indicate it's animated.
