Fur, Fins, Felons - Project Odyssey with kftiger

Project Odyssey Season 2

I have been working with kftiger on a submission for the trailer category for Project Odyssey Season 2. I'm very grateful for his expertise and hard work editing the video as I don't possess that skill and would have never been able to elevate it to this level. You can watch the video here. It tells the story of a loose cannon cop that doesn't play by the rules (Allie Katz), and a by-the-book axolotl police officer (Sal Lotl) now partnered together to fight the ever-rising cheese related crimes perpetrated by the mouse organized crime syndicate known as "The Cheddar Syndicate".

My first foray into AI was using ChatGPT to write dumb movie scripts. I've always had a thought to bring one to life through AI, but I never imaged i could be part of something so great.

Most of the credit goes to kftiger for putting this all together, the hard work he put in editing it is what makes it stand out.

Fun Images I want to Share & my experience on Civitai

I wanted to share the images that I created for this project that were used in img2vid generation using MINIMAX | Hailou AI. The images are a combination of my favorite that I created, as well as some that didn't make it to the final cut. I'll also say that my biggest worry going into this project was the audio, I was really impressed with what we were able to create with IIElevanLabs, which I had never used before. The emotion we were able to get out of the dialogue as well as creating sound effects were so much better than I could have hoped for.

Before I get to showing the images, I wanted to say thanks for everyone who likes my stuff. Everything I do on this site is just for fun. It's been a wild few weeks for me, from the completion of this project, to being brought on Civitai's livestream for a Civitai Creator Session which directly lead to me nearing 3,000 followers at the time of writing. Thank you for liking the things I've made.

Here is a look at the workflow I was using to create the images. At the time of writing, I'm using it to create a cover image:

Images of Fur, Fins, & Felons

This image lead to what has to be my favorite animation in the film.

This one was an attempt to have a scene of Sal hanging on to dear life as Allie drives recklessly in the chase, a different version of this one is present in the film.

A shot of this mouse boss was in an earlier cut of the video.

A quick jump cut scene that was cut that originally showed an intense moment struggling over a shotgun with a mouse perp.

A variation of the mice equipped with night vision goggles during a cheese heist.

One of my favorite images depicting a modern highway robbery of a cheese truck. The Military Contractor Comic Style - BPRE LoRa was used to create more anatomically correct AR's than Flux is able to on its own.

Originally, there was going to be a 'GEAR UP' scene

One with Allie

Another variation.

One more featuring Allie.

Allie tempted by the bricks of catnip in the evidence room.

This was meant to convey Allie's proclivity for not playing by the rules.

This guy had a prison personnel file written:

Prison Record: Marlo Mouselli

Alias: Capo di Formaggio

Species: Mus musculus (Mouse)

Affiliation: The Cheddar Syndicate

Convictions:

  • Cheese trafficking (multiple counts)

  • Conspiracy to commit rodent racketeering

Suspected Crimes:

  • Multiple unsolved murders tied to gang activity

Status:

  • Incarcerated at Rodentia Maximum Security Prison

  • Believed to orchestrate syndicate operations from behind bars

Sal's ticketing interrupted by a sudden and bold attack.

A leadup to a raid hitting a cheese stash-house.

A shot of Allie from this idea, which did make it into the film.

Sal with upgrades.

Tiny Sal with the seizures.

Images that required Inpainting

Flux had trouble with only drawing the outline, I manually inpainted this one.

For reference, this is what it looked like before, it would keep drawing a face no matter what I tried. A typo on the crime scene tape was also corrected.

This one was just inpainted so that the mouse looked like a mouse. In these types of shots, it would end up making the mouse look more like a cat.

And it would make the mice look like axolotls.

Trying to get some dramatic scene where Sal is about to fell off a roof, these were particularly hard and none of them looked convincing. The concept itself seemed difficult for flux to get the perspective right, and also having to mange it around with two LoRas added to the difficulty.

A dramatic shot of Sal falling (the animation from this one was really funny though).

There were a lot more images that didn't make it, but I wanted a way to show off some of my favorite that didn't make the cut. I hope you enjoyed it!
