Are you tired of constantly hunting for Loras of your favorite characters? Well, Illustrious, like many other models, is capable of identifying characters without the need for a specific Lora. In this brief, poorly done article I will share with you the methods I use to see if the model has data on a specific character, and the characters I have already discovered.

HOW DO I USE A CHARACTER WITHOUT A LORA?
Well, how do you do that? You use the magical technique called "writing their name". Of course, said technique doesn't always work, and one example is Rumi Usagiyama. I had no success writing Rumi's name, but if I write her alias "Mirko", then I narrow down the character and the checkpoint gives me what I want.
Now, lets say you wrote the name and/or aliases of the character you want, but still got nothing. What now? You use the other technique for narrowing down a character, and that is writing the source. For Mirko, you would write, Mirko \(my hero academia\). So, what you really need to do is: Character name + \(source\).
Further examples are: Tali'Zorah \(Mass Effect\); Toph \(avatar the last airbender\); Megumin\(konosuba\).
Most characters just need a name, or name+source, but some characters, even with the source, need a little bit of reinforcement. Tali is such case, and you will most likely need to write "helmet, faceless", etc. For Raven from Teen Titans you might need to write "Forehead Jewel", and the same goes for Tsunade if you want fidelity to the characters' original look. But, of course, with Loras the case is the same since you need trigger words, so nothing new here.
Pretty simple, right? but, if the name/alias doesn't work, and the source also doesn't, chances are that you will need a Lora. If there is no Lora, make one or cry on my shoulder. It's ok, we are all on the same boat.
CHARACTERS ILLUSTRIOUS IDENTIFIES
The following is an incomplete list of characters that Illustrious is able to summon without a Lora. These are merely characters that I used in the past, and I might update it as try new ones. They are sorted by media type, and they are already written in a way that you should be able to just copy and paste on your prompt.
If you see a character, but wants a different one in the same franchise, just try it out and see if you can use the method without the need for a Lora.
