civit ai started at the very end of 2022, almost a "heaven" for text to image models, so many people were brought together by civit ai and has played a major role in uniting this community.
but it has become the living example of what not to do due to various stupid decisions
site was slow - no problem
sites moderation is trash - no problem
site crashes occasionally - infuriating still no problem
made that early release decision - questionable but still not that big of a problem
but recently civit ai took probably "THE WORST" decision they could ever take
making the site meant for open source models have a stupid "generate on site only" option, its sad to see convenient products just kick you in your guts so they can earn some profit, this decision destroys the purpose of civit ai as a whole, the site just doesnt fix its any older problems but somehow manages to introduce new ones.
i request the civit ai team to take back this another "killer feature" of theirs as this has a big potential to kill civit ai finally.
