Man, time really flies! I still remember the day I found this site, and all it had to offer. Ah, the heady days of SD1.5 (still my fave!) were amazing. Things have steadied since then, with folks moving on to SDXL, Pony, FLux, etc, with the SD1.5 community getting smaller.
So it's prob time for me to move on as well.
Q: So, you're quitting? Why?
A: Well, not entirely. I'll prob still check-in from time to time, and maybe upload a lora or two. But I won't be as active as before. I have a coupla other things I want to do and I expect to spend less time on here.
Q: So why this announcement?
A: Well, tbh I wasn't going to make one. But I've seen plenty of other creators on here just go inactive (especially celeb creators), and that kinda sucks for fans of their work (myself included). I don't think I'll be as missed as they are, but this is a "thank you & goodbye" for the folks who've enjoyed my work (never thought I'd have 1.3k folks following me, tbh).
Q: So when are you "leaving"?
A: Soon. I figured I'd go out with a bang. As of today, 17th March 2025, I've uploaded LoRAs of 74 different celebs (excluding my non-celeb LoRAs or updated versions in this count). If I get to 105 celebs by Jul 23rd (my 2-year anniversary on this site), that would work out to roughly 1 celeb a week for 2 years. Which isn't bad with a full-time job & life outside all of this.
Q: So that's your target? 31 more celeb LoRAs in 4 months?
A: Well, yeah. That and diversifying my output. More than 48% of my LoRAs have been American celebs, and I'll be aiming to showcase celebs from around the world a little more. Beauty isn't a defined standard and I want to explore that.
Q: So 31 more celeb LoRAs, and DEI?
A: Yeah, that's the mission statement (sorta).
Q: So what's next?
A: Wish me luck I guess? Keep downloading, liking & rating if you enjoy em (and do the same for other creators as well). Celeb LoRA creators don't get their work shared on here as much as others, so show them some love. If anyone has any recommendations/datasets for celebs (especially from lesser-known countries that I haven't covered, hit me up). I'll be updating this announcement with progress, if anyone out there cares.
And lastly, a big thank you to everyone who's downloaded any of my work (some of you have become genuine friends). I hope you've enjoyed these LoRAs as much as I've loved creating them, and that they'll live on out there in cyberspace. It's been a ride.
