The Art of Consistency — Episode 3
Aging of a Persona
Introduction
Can AI accurately age a persona across different life stages? In Episode 3 of The Art of Consistency, I push Stable Diffusion to its limits — testing whether a single character can remain visually consistent from youth to old age. The results? Surprisingly revealing. I will focus on three distinct eras in a person’s life: the teenage years, adulthood, and the elderly.
As always, I start with an initial image. From this starting point, I will engage VisionTaggerGPT to provide for me a JSON which contains all of the necessary data to craft text-to-image prompts for use in Stable Diffusion.
The first JSON was for an elderly person, as the inspiration image features an elderly woman. While processing the images, I decided it would be interesting to check and see if there is consistency across age groups. This gave Episode 3 the direction discussed in this article.
I asked VisionTagger to imagine the person depicted in the image as a teenager and then as an adult in her prime, and create two new JSONs. This Episode is three times as long as the previous two due to the fact that I am covering three distinct variations of a single inspiration image.
In this article I will provide for you the generation parameters used with Stable Diffusion to generate the images, the physical tags extracted from the JSONs which serve as the general prompt for every image in its age group, a set of images featuring only the physical tags as the prompt, and the JSON itself created by VisionTaggerGPT.
The next three sections will contain three images for every prompt featured in each of the JSONs. Finally a conclusion at the end based on the results. I will continue to make new Episodes for The Art of Consistency as new ideas come about.
