Use camera filename to affect prompts

I came across this tip for midjourney and figured that I would give it a go with flux and it makes a lot of sense.

For the first part of the prompt, start with an "image filename" for the type of camera you want to imitate.

For instance, if you want iphone style photos, start the prompt with IMG_04042024.HEIC and then put in the rest of the descriptive prompt. For instance:

IMG_09072025.HEIC selfie of three female friends in the mid 20's out for a night of fun and drinks. The first female is a slender blonde with strikingly good looks and wavy blonde hair, she is wearing a sundress and cowgirl boots, the second friend is a shorter blonde with an average body, she is wearing tight blue jeans and a colorful tight fitting top that shows off her ample chest, she has striking blue eyes and the third friend is a curvy latina with long dirty blonde hair and an amazing ass. She is wearing a short dress that shows of her thick thighs, she has glasses on and a very mischievous smile

Returns an image that looks like:

Can also just use the file name. Putting img_0221.CR3 in the prompt generated a simple image that looks like:

The reasoning behind this working so well is that the models are trained on thousands of images all with unique file names and formats. CR2 or CR3 are related to canon camera raw files, HEIC is the iphone file format, other common image formats:

  • JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg):

A widely used, lossy format, meaning some image data is discarded to reduce file size, making it suitable for sharing and web use.

  • RAW:

A uncompressed format that preserves the most image data, allowing for greater flexibility in post-processing, but resulting in larger file sizes.

  • TIFF (.tif):

A lossless format that preserves image quality, often used for archiving and professional printing.

  • PNG (.png):

A lossless format that supports transparency and is commonly used for graphics and images on the web.

  • GIF (.gif):

A format known for its ability to display animated images, often used for small animations or images on the web.

RAW Formats by Camera Brand:

Other Formats:

  • HEIF (.heif, .heic):

A newer, more efficient format that can store high-quality images with smaller file sizes.

  • DNG (.dng):

A universal RAW format developed by Adobe, designed to be compatible across different cameras and software

If you find one that works really well or provides a unique image let me know!
