Camera & Focus - Danbooru Tags Guide Series [Still Editing]

The following is a guide I created using an LLM and a curated set of data from Danbooru. This will be a living document as I work to improve it and clean it up, that includes ensuring all information is 100% correct as far as I can verify. I originally created it to use as a "grounding" document with LLMs when asking them for tag-based image prompts. I found that these documents (there are as of writing over 16 documents in total covering various categories of tags) were actually helpful as a reference when writing prompts directly versus having to go to Danbooru directly for everything. PART I · How to Build a Prompt in 5 Minutes

1. Angle • Framing • Focus — the three building blocks

Camera angle — front, side, high‑angle, low‑angle…
Framing / composition — full body, bust, close up…
Focus & gaze — spotlight on a body part, prop, or eye contact.

2. Five‑step workflow

1  Choose one camera‑angle tag.
2  Choose one framing tag.
3  Add a gaze tag if eye direction matters.
4  Add a focus tag only when a part, object, or effect is center stage.
5  Generate → inspect → tweak tags, not weights.

3. Common pitfalls

• Redundant crops — using full body and cropped legs together.

• Conflicting angles — combining from above and from below cancels the effect.

• Over‑tagging props — adding shoes to an upper‑body portrait encourages the model to force feet on‑screen.
