Poem: "The Other Me"

"The Other Me"

A poem about a really hard time in my life, struggling with my sexuality.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They argue so loud the neighbors hear

Never there to lend an ear

Alone in my room, I play my games

Listening to strangers with funny names

I grit my teeth and perform my part

Afraid to share what's in my heart

Then you came to shine a light

Brought out the sun gleaming bright

Cherished the moments we'd sneak away

My love I struggled to convey

Let my demons drive a wedge

Push me closer to the ledge

I turned my back to the world

My soul packed up neatly furled

Shut off the lights and hid away

All that's left is bleak and grey

I did not want the world to see

The rainbow colored other me

I hope I didn't waist your time reading this. I'm really not the best writer.
