The Struggles of Creating and Fine Tuning Checkpoint Merges While Stupid

So I have 4 checkpoints now! I think they're all pretty distinct stylistically while all using the same base to keep a consistent vibe and aesthetic.

Feel free to check them out.
Bridgetoons Mix - All purpose cartoon style.
Turbotoon Mix - Highly stylized cartoon, leaning more towards the big head chibi-ish look most other cartoon checkpoints have.
Mouse Mix - Disney Style
Comix - Still cartoony, but with a more 'comic' style, like DC/Marvel/Image stuff.

But I've been running into some issues, and I'm wondering if any big-brained people have advice or can point me towards guides to help.

The biggest issue right now is that, for some reason, when generating locally, Mouse Mix gets crazy burnt in neon glow colors, but only when using (this:#) style weights in the negative prompt. If you don't weight them, it comes out fine. I have no clue what's causing that.

The other thing I'm unhappy with the color and detail of the backgrounds in Mouse Mix and Comix, but I don't know how to tweak the colors and backgrounds without changing the style. I've tried injecting Loras in, but it changes more than just the background style.

Anyone got any insight? Does it require me to be less stupid? I only know how to use Forge's checkpoint merger and supermerger.
