Just the Tip

tl;dr: With today's change, if you have the means, you should start tipping your favorite nsfw creators more often and more generously.

I have three things to say.

First off, blue buzz suddenly and without notice becoming sfw-only is an insane decision and I don't blame anyone for leaving just on account of that.

Second, civit is clearly trying really hard to keep NSFW gen online at all. Which, as a pervert with a few dollars but not the stack of benjamins for a local gen setup, I appreciate. (Anyone reading this is, most likely, a vaguely similar-minded pervert - hello!)

Third... Some preamble. Back In The Day, people on the internet talked about using microtransactions as an alternative to ad revenue or subscriptions, to support creators and defray hosting costs. If you liked some content you could hit a button and pay the creator 5c (or whatever), completely piecemeal. Eventually this was written off as a pipe dream -- processor fees for amounts below a dollar or two were simply too severe, and nobody could get a pseudo-currency ecosystem off the ground.

Civit has managed to create the most functional implementation of this idea I've seen, pretty much ever.

So we should leverage that. If you have the buzz kicking around, tip nsfw creators you like more often and/or more generously than in the past. For free users tipping is moving from "highly appreciated" to "critical", and even off-site genners can pass the tips along to people they enjoy.
