I for one think this is a good patch.
Is it perfect? Hell nah. But is it decent? Yeah.
Now like myself I came here because of the promise of making free nsfw art based on my own personal interests and imaginitive mind of "what if"
It also helped me make references for friends to get artwork and even help create ocs for them.
However given the fact there is hundreds of thousands of users on this site, I can't imagine the amount of resources it takes to keep this site afloat while providing a image generating service. To which we all know is quite resource heavy on the individual and time consuming to which this site has cut those down for us as an individual. So giving us free tokens but putting nsfw generation it behind a paywall via paid membership is kind of a compromise considering the competition out there is very little from what I gathered.
Now that's the meat of the subject.
The potatos however, they need to working on:
-Members using blue buzz for generation but still have to use yellow buzz to view it
This is counter intuitive to paying for a membership since we want to pay for a membership to generate nsfw from the free buzz, but also have to fork over the paid yellow buzz just to view it and see if it needs tweeking to make the intended result.
-The detection bot acting like 1920s police
Like myself and many others the bot has been poorly optimized to detect and differeniate between sfw imagery and nsfw imagery. Even when using prompts to make the image as safe as possible, the bot detection still treats the image like it's full on porn. Even when remixing approved existing generated images in the generator end up being flagged for nsfw despite no changes in the prompts of the approved image. This needs tweeking BIG TIME if you want be more user friendly and make free users decide whether to fork over money to do nsfw imagery with their free buzz.
-Subscriptions need revisting
Now that member subscriptions are the main focus of nsfw imagery, they need to figure out how make it more accessible for people going on here. With some people still not being able to use the current service to purchase memberships or buzz due to national laws. This needs to be revisted to ensure the people affected by the nsfw restriction get access too.
Not to mention they need to have MONTHLY subscriptions. I know they did this before because I bought one back in September this year.
Not only is this a good incentive for users to fork over $10 (USD) for one month, but also an affordable means of access to memberships, and a good means to justify spending money on a service that is decent (CivitAI is far from a premium service/experience), but gives us ease of access to make our own imagery for personal use.
