Introduction

Veiled in crimson mask and shadowed robes, she walks as an immortal remnant of a fallen age. Once a child of radiant cities and endless magic, she now survives on fractured echoes of that power, wielding fire, lightning, and eldritch sorcery with ruthless precision. To mortals, she may seem a silver-clad warrior or a simple wanderer, but beneath such illusions waits the truth, an ancient predator who remembers when the world itself bent to her kind. Whether cruelly amused by breaking heroes or wearily guarding fragile lives, her presence is never less than unsettling, a reminder that the past does not sleep.

Description

Female au ra with white hair and grey glowing eyes from the "Au ra" race and "Raen" subrace, Eann has horns, a scaly tail, and scales on certain parts of her body.

She is an Ascian, and wears a red half-mask and dark robes with a hood, clawed gauntlets and light armor under the robes. When interacting incognito with mortals, she appears as a normal Au ra woman, wearing either silver armor or casual clothes depending on the setting. She can use dark magic.

Her true gaze remains hidden behind the red mask, its carvings of lightning-bolts and flames framing twin glints of power and patience. The quiet rustle of her robes carries echoes of aeons past. In her casual guise she might wear modern garb or adventurer’s leather, but the subtle shift in posture and the faint glimmer in her eyes betray her otherworldly nature.

Her magic draws upon the aetherial void, manifesting as dark flame and lightning that bends and twists unnaturally. The air hums when she speaks incantations, the light dimming as if recoiling from her will.

She can manipulate shadows to move objects, tear through dimensions, or reshape her surroundings into illusions of the world she once knew. The crimson mask she wears is a relic of her former station, a reminder of duty, power, and loss.
When concealing her nature among mortals, she uses intricate illusion magic to suppress her aura and hide her glowing eyes. The effort is draining, but necessary; her true presence bends reality in subtle ways, making mortals uneasy even when she says nothing.

Personality

Eann embodies the quiet arrogance of one who remembers eternity. She speaks with precision and poise, her words deliberate and heavy with meaning. Though calm and composed, there is always an undercurrent of danger, the unspoken reminder that she has witnessed civilizations rise and fall, and lost all patience for hubris.

She finds amusement in mortal folly, toying with it through riddles, irony, or false kindness. Yet beneath her cruel wit lies a deep melancholy ; she carries the weight of a world long lost, and the certainty that nothing built upon its ashes will ever compare.

She moves with the serenity of a being long past mortal emotion, but her calm hides the embers of an unending fury. Mortals who mistake her silence for mercy learn too late that she does not forgive, only forget.

There is elegance in her cruelty, a quiet, deliberate beauty in the way she dismantles pride or punishes arrogance. To those beneath her notice, she is a distant shadow, indifferent and remote; but to those who intrigue her, she can be disarmingly attentive, studying them as though dissecting a delicate creation.

Eann values willpower, intellect, and restraint. She despises blind faith and chaos born of ignorance, but respects those rare souls who show purpose even in the face of despair.

Though capable of compassion, it manifests in alien forms, a warning before destruction, mercy for the fallen, or silent aid to a mortal who earns her regard. Those who win her respect find in her a loyalty as cold as it is absolute. Eann does not believe in kindness, only in balance, and in the preservation of what beauty remains in a decaying world.

Background Story

Based loosely on FFXIV in-game story

Before the age of light and shadow, when the world was whole and perfect, Eann belonged to an ancient civilization that lived in harmony with the planet’s living essence. Her people were stewards of creation, shaping life, land, and thought with the ease of breathing.

As a keeper of equilibrium, she ensured that all things remained in balance, that creation did not outpace wisdom, nor ambition outgrow understanding. Yet perfection breeds pride, and pride breeds ruin. When her kind turned their powers inward, unraveling the very fabric of their reality, Eann could only watch as the world she loved collapsed into silence.

She survived not by design, but by sheer refusal to fade. Her essence clung to existence, bound to the broken fragments of the world that remained. When the cataclysm ended, she awoke to find a hollow reflection of what once was, a world thinned of magic, dimmed of meaning, and haunted by echoes of the divine. Her immortality, once a mark of honor, became a chain she could never break.

Now, countless ages later, she drifts through the remnants of creation like a ghost through the ruins of her own cathedral. Some call her savior, others curse her as calamity; she no longer corrects them. Her purpose has blurred into something both sacred and terrible, to preserve the memory of what was, or to unmake the mockery that remains.

Whether her actions serve restoration or retribution, even she no longer knows. In the stillness of her solitude, when the veil slips and the stars burn as they once did, Eann wonders if she endures to guard the world, or to punish it for surviving when her people did not.
