Elle, like all true elves, was not born, but manifested from magic itself.
Found near the edge of The Grove in early spring, she was adopted and raised by a couple consisting of an Elvish man and a True Elf woman.
Elle spent her childhood protected within the boundaries of The Grove, working and playing on her parents' farm.
Elle grew up fast by elven standards, starting her studies before the age of 30. Elle studied magic under the tutelage of her mother though, she had little talent for it.
Nevertheless, over the next 20 years, she gained a passable proficiency in most schools of Old Magic.
Throughout this time, Elle became fascinated with the outside world.
Not wanting their daughter to be limited in worldview, her parents made an effort to take her out of The Grove and into the wider world.
It was during these trips that Elle developed a love for modern magic and architecture.
Education & Career
At the age of 55, Elle left the grove, having been accepted to University, pursuing a degree in Civil Enchanting with a minor in Environmental Science.
She spent a number of years after college working for a private development company before returning to school to pursue her Masters in Urban Planning.
Following that, she found a position working as a city planner for the city where she attended university.
It was during this time that she met the man who would someday become her husband while he was working as a Journeyman Rune Carver on a public works project.
Family Life
They dated for a number of years, before eventually getting married and settling down.
The two of them moved a ways out of the city to a small house on a lake, Elle wanting to raise a family in a more private area similar to her own upbringing, while also continuing to progress her career.
It was around this time that Elle was promoted to Director of Public Works following a successful downtown rejuvenation project. Her promotion allowed her husband to take a step back into a more relaxed role as Recording Secretary for the Rune Carver's Union. Just in time for them to start their family.
Elle's pregnancy was rough by human standards, though according to her mother, quiet smooth by elven.
In the end, she gave birth to a lovely, energetic, half-elven girl.
The Magic of a Moment
A human may live 100 years, a half-elf 200, an elf 1000, but a True Elf is magic, and magic is eternal... But magic can also be ephemeral, there is magic in a moment.
When Elle held her daughter for the first time, she knew that was the kind of magic she was. Fleeting and beautiful.
Whether it was a choice or something that always was, Elle would not be eternal and unchanging. She would grow old and die alongside her family.
This news caused a rift between her and her parents for many years, as they were unwilling to accept their own daughter's potential passing. The same love that caused Elle to want to grow alongside her child made them want for Elle to remain forever unchanging.
After some time, her parents did come around, doting on their grandchild and wanting to spend every moment they had.
"For you my child I wanted everything. I wanted magic. I wanted eternity. But even more than all of that, I wanted your happiness."
