Development Updates!

Not going to be a long one here - just some small updates on the things that you care more about than our mass dump of models we make every month!

Dataset Tools:

  1. As of 2026 we're going to likely move into using NodeJS and NextJS frontend and possibly do a hosted version as well as an electron desktop app for it. This is more of a "better service layer" for something like this, and it may take a while to get it done. That will then mean once it's done it'll be the first 1.0 release. (As I don't consider it anywhere near useable as a 1.0 release until then lol.)

  2. Bug hunts - I think there IS a bug that we fixed recently on one of the development branches but it's so minor that nobody's really going to notice. It WAS pushed, but because I personally don't recall what it was - it's just going to sit there.

Lora easy Training Jupyter:

  1. This originally got archived, but it came back because some people just -- i dunno it was more that I NEEDED IT because of a reason.

  2. UTF-8 encoding issues prevented me from re-using it.

  3. RACE CONDITIONS STILL EXIST.

  4. Don't think we can fix ANY of those at the current moment, as they LARGELY feel like --- race conditions that you can't fix with Ipywidgets.

KNX - Trainer:

  1. I'm NOW ON WINDOWS: THIS MAY TAKE ME QUITE A WHILE to get back into fixing a ton of bugs as i'm trying to install docker.

  2. I just bootcamp from MacOS to Windows and uhm, anyone wanna fund raise to get me an activation for windows? -- Cause I installed Win 10 Pro via the bootcamp software aaaand it's gonna be 400 NZD or so lol. (Literally no joke 420 NZD i think.)

  3. The current bugs are zustand and other things that I have to finagle, and it might not be Jan 12th before these get finished.

If you're CURIOUS as to WHY the hell I moved away from MacOS on an Imac to Windows?

:) Easy:
I made a big blunder.
I screwed up my OS by upgrading to Sequoia, and Sequoia doesn't like the metal 2 drivers on my AMD card. Volumetric fog was so much fun logging into FFXIV. I tried to install a macro-solver for Crafting because it was patch day and I had to figure out how to help craft high materials for the 7.4 gear.

Which i'm sure you XIV nerds know has tons of roses on it.
And when i figure out again how to make clothing loras, I'll be doing gear loras later on.

But yes, i'm doing my best to try and figure this crap out but by the time i end up installing everything i need to install i feel like i'm going to have almost NO hard drive space left.
