This entire album is a celebration of the self, free of shame or guilt. This particular song, Undercover, always struck an emotional chord in me because the lyrics mirrored words my father imparted to me in the years before he passed away. He was a proud man who never spoke of his own suffering until he saw me at one of my lowest points.

Shame, guilt, and grief are heavy burdens. It is bizarre – so utterly human – because we choose to carry these crushing feelings... and we don't talk about it.
Everyone has a breaking point and if you can't find a way to let go… you will be dragged under.
"Life is a prize greater than gold."
It took me a long time to believe those words from my father, but his advice saved me from myself. I still struggle, every god-damned day, but I know there is happiness beyond these feelings. I hope this helps someone.

Stop beating yourself up over the past.
Go out into the sun and just breathe. Nature heals.
Re-learn what it is to still be alive. Learn gratitude for it.
Escape into art, create something.
Lift people up, especially those less fortunate than you.
