CIVITAI Is Not a Private Space
Anyone who posts something on CivitAI or in public spaces shouldn't treat it as if it were a private chat. Things stay—they don't disappear; they remain for years.
Yesterday, someone (I won't name names) blocked me simply because I commented on one of their posts. They didn't vanish just because they blocked me—I still receive notifications when people write.
In my comment, I had pointed out that they mentioned people can make money on CivitAI. But maybe they blocked me because I've created FLUX models in the niche where they consider themselves the leader. Perhaps I went a bit overboard by doing some self-promotion—something many people do here.
RECOMMENDATION: If you decide to block someone, don't do it immediately. If you're reporting someone for a specific piece of content, don't post a comment on the image you're about to block. Why? Because even if you block them, the content doesn't disappear—and that person will know it was you who reported them. In fact, you risk facing retaliation from that person.
Personally, I don't block anyone. At most, I block R+ content that I accidentally come across in the PG and PG13 sections. I also block anything that doesn't interest me—that way, I only see content I actually want to engage with and like.
Many times, I'm not happy with what happens on CivitAI. In the beginning, I used to take it personally, but now I don't say anything anymore. I simply remove anything suspicious when the yellow review triangle appears or when content gets blocked. Creativity doesn't stop—the content itself isn't what matters, but the idea behind it. Even if an idea gets blocked, you can always create something else just as beautiful.
