To be blunt, I don’t trust Civitai’s moderation system at all.
By now everyone probably knows it’s riddled with errors and full of holes, and I doubt I’m anywhere near the only person who’s gotten screwed over by it.
The moment even a single word that might vaguely suggest NSFW appears, the system goes rabid and slaps Yellow Buzz on it like a brain-damaged guard dog. Hell, it even treats the word “seductive” as NSFW, for fuck’s sake. So to avoid that clownshow of a process, I’ve just been using ComfyUI and making whatever I want there instead.
But here’s the real joke: whenever I upload images or videos made outside Civitai as posts, that idiotic yellow warning label shows up every single damn time.
And the best part? It never gets resolved properly no matter how long I wait. The post just sits there forever with that yellow warning attached, never gets unlocked for other people to actually see, and every time I upload something, they hide behind the same tired excuse: “under review.” At this point that sounds less like an explanation and more like a polite way of saying “we’re too incompetent or too lazy to do anything about it.”
What really gets me is that some people seem to upload externally made images and videos just fine. So what exactly is their secret? What kind of magic trick are they pulling that the rest of us aren’t allowed to know?
And honestly, it really does make me wonder: does Civitai’s upload moderation pick favorites too? Because at this point it sure as hell looks that way.
