AI video generation workflows can often be incredibly powerful but frustratingly complex to navigate. Recently, I came across an existing workflow online designed to extend videos using reference images. While the base mechanics were solid, the setup itself was rigid and lacked the flexibility needed for genuine creative control.
I decided to take this foundation and completely overhaul the chart, transforming it into a highly intuitive, practical, and fully controllable tool.
What’s New in the Upgraded Workflow?
To make the process smoother and put the creator back in the driver's seat, I integrated several key nodes and features that were missing from the original version:
Seamless Video Merging: In the original workflow, the extended footage was generated as a completely separate file. I added a new automated step that smoothly concatenates the original video and the newly generated extension into one single, continuous video file.
Adjustable Resolution: You are no longer locked into a single, default output size. The updated workflow allows for quick resolution adjustments to perfectly match your specific project needs.
Complete Prompt Control: I integrated dedicated input fields for both positive and negative prompts. This gives you precise, granular control over exactly what appears—and what is excluded—in the newly generated frames.
Customizable CFG Values: You can now easily tweak the Classifier-Free Guidance (CFG) scale directly from the main layout. This allows you to fine-tune the balance between how strictly the AI follows your text prompts versus how much creative freedom it takes.
Flexible Video Length: Whether you need a brief half-second extension or a much longer sequence, you can now define the exact frame count or length of the required video output effortlessly.
