Reformat Any Ad or Design for a New Aspect Ratio in ComfyUI

You have a finished design. Now you need it in five different formats by end of day. Squishing it stretches the layout. Cropping cuts the logo. Starting over takes hours.

Upload once. Pick a ratio. Get a clean recomposition out.

Run it now on Floyo!

Why This Workflow

Manual resizing in Photoshop or Figma means moving every element by hand, outpainting the background separately, and checking that nothing broke. For three or four formats, that's a full afternoon.

This workflow treats your design as a set of layers, typography, logos, hero imagery, and background and redistributes them intelligently for the new canvas size. The background extends through outpainting. Text and brand elements reposition for the new format. Fonts, weights, and proportions stay intact.

  • outpaints the background to fill the new canvas

  • repositions typography, logos, and hero elements as separate layers

  • preserves original font styles, weights, and visual hierarchy

  • no stretching, letterboxing, or broken layouts

  • supports 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, 3:2, and more

Key Inputs

Your Design

Any finished graphic, social post, ad creative, poster, banner. The model reads your typography, hero imagery, and brand elements as distinct components and redistributes them for the new format.

Works well with:

  • social media posts and ad creatives

  • poster and banner designs with clear type hierarchy

  • branded assets with logos, headlines, and background imagery

  • designs with readable text and defined layout structure

Works less well with:

  • heavily custom illustrations where every pixel matters

  • designs with strict specification requirements where manual control is needed

  • very complex multi-layer artwork with unusual compositional logic

Model

  • Nano Banana 2 (default): faster, lower cost. Works well for social posts and quick ad variants

  • Nano Banana Pro: higher fidelity, sharper text reproduction, better handling of complex multi-element layouts. Use for hero campaign assets and anything where text legibility at small sizes matters

Aspect Ratio

Set to the format you need:

  • 9:16: Stories, Reels, TikTok

  • 1:1: Instagram feed, Facebook square

  • 4:5: Instagram feed portrait

  • 16:9: YouTube, display banners, presentations

  • 3:2, 2:3: Print and editorial formats

Default is auto (matches input). Going from vertical to horizontal, the workflow shifts a stacked layout into a side-by-side composition automatically.

Resolution

Default 1K PNG. Bump higher for print or large hero ad placements.

Prompt

Pre-loaded with an art director system prompt that locks the model to: extend the background, treat typography and logos as layers, preserve font styles and weights, maintain visual hierarchy. Most users leave it alone.

Edit it only if you want different behavior, allowing new decorative elements, or letting the model adjust brand colors. The default prompt blocks all of those by design.

What This Is Great For

Ad creative versioning: Turn a master campaign design into every platform format in one session. 1:1 feed, 9:16 story, 16:9 banner, 4:5 portrait, all from one upload.

Social media teams: Produce format variants for the same content without rebuilding the layout each time. Upload the approved master, pick each ratio, run, repeat.

Agency production: When a client approves a hero design and immediately needs it in four formats for the media plan, this is the fastest path from one to many.

Print to digital: Adapt poster and print layouts for digital placements without manual rework. The background extends and elements reposition for the new dimensions.

What to Watch Out For

For precise, spec-critical work, manual rework in Figma or Photoshop gives tighter control. This workflow is for speed and scale, not pixel-perfect specification matching.

Small text at 1K resolution can lose legibility on complex layouts. Switch to Nano Banana Pro and keep resolution at 1K or higher when text sharpness is critical.

The default prompt blocks new focal objects, decorative borders, and brand color changes. If the output feels too conservative, edit the prompt to remove the Strict Limitations section.

Extreme ratio changes (1:1 to 16:9) require significant background extension. The more background that needs to be generated, the more the outpainting has to invent. Start with designs that have some environmental background rather than hard-cut edges.
