How To Get To Draft Mode Workflow on Older Models

Draft mode is something I initially found to be near useless, but came around to it as buzz became more scarce and I published more loras. I don't pretend to be a good lora creator, I can muddle through, but one thing I take pride in is my samples and in draft mode I usually get something closer to them. Some of my better pics come in draft mode, I'm not here to explain the science of that or upsell it more than I already have, if you're reading, you probably want to get to draft mode.

Because if you're a user of ILL or Pony or some such like me, and you've ever used it, you're probably wondering after the interface update, hey, where did they hide the draft mode? Is it me? Am I the drama?

Why it's over in Flux, glad you asked! I'd prefer to just have the little button/dropdown, but I'll take it how I can get it.

I call this dubious objet d'art, Hey, Poindexter, Where's My Draft Button/Dropdown?

Now, if you already have drafts in your queue from back before they forced the new interface, you should save a preset now (these steps below will also show you how to do that), I advise familiarizing yourself with presets either way, can really cut down on having to keep text files of your prompts or dig up old gens and such. If not, carry on my wayward son:

#Step 1

First you gotta get onto Flux, it might work elsewhere, but why change a winning formula. Reset if you have to, click the little Eco drop down, and pick a Flux. Oh, and if the dropdown keeps disappearing, be persistent and be a bit faster mousing over to the slide bar, you only have to carry this off once or twice!

Step# 2

Now we click the draft button. I know, I know, but believe it or not sometimes I can't spot a big ol' button either, why stress the ol' brain.

Step# 3

Now that we're on draft, we come back to the environment button and set it to the model we want, in this case Pony. Its not shown on the screenshot, but I trust you to be able to use the scroll bar.

Step# 4

howto5.jpg

So now we're in Pony, and as you see, its in Draft. This is a good time to add your always prompts and negs if you have any, scores and such. But this wasn't any kind of fun, I have to say, so we're going to save a preset so we don't have to go through this again. You click on the little bookmark looking icon (which again, I recommend you use this elsewhere), and save your preset.

Step #5

howto6.jpg

I only started using presets recently, that's why I'm holding your hand here. Note, you can populate something more complex, like if you have a favorite character, style, thing your character does in galleries (I see you guys reusing those).

Step #6

howto7.jpg

And now when we want a draft, we can click on presets, and pick it, and we're in the draft workflow! Note, for presets, if its Pony, you'll see Pony presets, for ILL, you'll see ILL presets. So I did this for each, if you use more foundational models, then obviously, you might have to do this more if you want draft workflow. Note, it may be available on some of the newer models, and on some (like Pony 7), its not supported at all.
