Scheduled showcase post publishes too early

I just prepaired a model and showcase post for publishing and scheduled them for about an hour later. However the showcase post published immediately after hitting the schedule button. This should not happen. Has anyone else encountered this behaviour? Is it due to some recent changes made to model publishing?
