wonders if something is 'off' about it and sees about rolling back said update
attempts to do so
in turn every file seems to glitch out
"okay let's delete this venv file like when i fresh re-installed my graphics drivers"

go in a circle for roughly an hour
finally the thing launches properly and is working again
it's back to the updated version i was trying to roll back from
"fuck it i'm not going through that again"
anyway it's all fine now except for the mental distress i was under. and i'm pretty sure whatever issue i thought i was having was just me hallucinating or something.
this is after an annoying work day too so it's par for the course
