A lot of checkpoints and LoRAs spit out 3:2, 16:9, or odd portrait ratios. That looks fine in the Civitai gallery, but Instagram tiles and WhatsApp / Discord avatars still expect something closer to 1:1 — and avatars get a circle mask on top.
If you upload a wide genshot as-is, the app will crop for you. Sometimes that kills a face, a watermark you meant to keep, or the edge of a character design you spent prompts on.
Quick choices before you post
Hard crop — when the subject is already centered and the edges are empty noise.
Pad or blur-fill — when you want the whole render visible inside a square (group scenes, full-body character sheets, UI mockups from img2img).
Keep faces toward the center third if the destination is a circular DP. For feed posts, 1080×1080 is still a boring but reliable export size.

Pick your best generation (or upscale first if you need detail).
Make a square master before uploading to social.
Upload that file — don’t rely on the phone app’s surprise crop.
You don’t need another local install for this step. A free browser tool that turns images into squares is enough: drop the PNG/JPG, use blur or a solid border if you don’t want to cut the frame, export, then post.
