📖 About this Project
https://civitai.red/models/2781405/dragon-ball-z-world
This project started with a simple—but ambitious—goal:
Recreate the world of Dragon Ball Z as faithfully as possible.
From day one, the objective was never to build a generic Dragon Ball checkpoint covering every series. Instead, this project has always been dedicated to the original Dragon Ball Z anime, with a strong focus on its iconic 90s cel animation style, memorable characters, and legendary transformations.
While a few bonus characters have been added for fun, Dragon Ball Z has always been—and will always remain—the heart of this project.
🚧 Current Development
This checkpoint is still under active development.
Many iconic Dragon Ball Z characters have already been added, but the journey is far from over.
Some characters already generate reliable results, while others are still being improved to achieve better:
🎨 Character accuracy
💪 Anatomy
🔥 Transformations
👕 Outfits
😀 Facial expressions
🎭 Overall consistency
Recent updates have focused heavily on improving captions so that different forms—such as Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, and several Saiyan transformations—are recognized as truly distinct characters rather than simple variations.
⭐ Bonus Characters
Although this checkpoint is dedicated to Dragon Ball Z, a couple of bonus characters have been added simply because I enjoyed working on them.
🤖 Android 21
👩 Gine
These aren't part of the project's original scope—they're just little extras.
🎯 The Original Goal
When I started this project, I had one very specific objective:
To recreate every major Dragon Ball Z character while faithfully preserving the classic Dragon Ball Z art style.
The idea wasn't to build a checkpoint covering the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Instead, I wanted to focus exclusively on Dragon Ball Z, recreating its heroes, villains, transformations, and iconic moments with as much accuracy as possible.
Adding new characters was never the only objective.
Every character already included would continue to be refined until they truly captured their anime counterpart, while keeping the unmistakable look and feel of the original Dragon Ball Z series.
That was the original vision...
...but somewhere along the way, the project started to evolve.
🚀 What's Next?
Well... something changed along the way.
Working on those bonus characters made me realize something:
I simply love Dragon Ball's art style.
Even though I have a visceral hatred for Dragon Ball Super and Daima 😅, I don't really want to limit this checkpoint to Dragon Ball Z anymore.
Instead, I'd like to gradually include characters from every Dragon Ball series—whether it's Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, GT, Super, Daima, the movies, or even the games whenever they fit.
That being said, I'll always do my best to preserve the visual identity that made me start this project in the first place.
For me, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT all share a very similar artistic identity, and that's the style I want this checkpoint to stay true to.
💬 Your Feedback Matters
Don't hesitate to leave feedback or tell me which characters you'd like to see next!
I probably won't be able to add everyone's favorites in a single update, but I always read your suggestions and use them to plan future releases.
My long-term goals are also to:
🎨 Make characters easier to generate without requiring overly detailed prompts.
👥 Improve multi-character generation so scenes with several characters become much more reliable.
🔧 Continue refining existing characters instead of only adding new ones.
🐉 Eventually build the Dragon Ball checkpoint I've always wanted to use myself.
Thanks to everyone who's been following the project, testing it, reporting issues, and sharing images. Every bit of feedback helps make this checkpoint better! ❤️
