Hey Civitai community!
It’s a bit sad that summer is almost over — this is the last summer update!☀️
As usual, there have been quite a few changes on Civitai. Some of them started pretty controversial, but luckily the management listened to the community and made some useful adjustments.
One thing I want to highlight is the new New & Upcoming section. On one hand, it helps spotlight newer accounts, which is great. On the other hand, what about accounts that didn’t gain enough followers in 90 days? It can become easier to just start over. It also doesn’t fully solve the bot problem — accounts boosted by bots can still grab a lot of attention.
Civitai is clearly trying, and that’s a good thing, but there are still places to improve. That’s also why this series still makes sense.
Still, it’s really nice that they finally started taking more actions to support new creators. One of them is featuring my Hidden Gems collection! A big thank you to Boerboer, who actually pushed this idea to the Civitai mods.
Speaking of Boerboer — he started his own collection with a very similar idea. He gathers great works from users with under 1,000 followers, and anyone can add their images there. If that sounds like you, go check it out and add your stuff!
