Which version should YOU use and why

If you want a quick answer use the fastest version that works on your system, if you want the in depth reasons keep reading.

Here is a scientific breakdown of the analysis of the images output from my quantizations of FinalCut Pro

Note: FP8_Scaled and MXFP8 match in this test because I do not have the custom framework to use MXFP8...Many 4090 and 50xxx users also do not have it

Those numbers are vs BF16 ground truth at a very small sample size, but they do in fact line up with what all the "Big Science" is saying INT Convrot is near perfect to BF16

Cased closed right just use INT8 Convrot...To a point yes, if you have ComfyUI it is the version I would recommend. But lets really break this down.

Visually the human eye can not see the differences in BF16 vs any version of the quantization. What the human eye can see is mistakes like too many fingers, hands that melt into objects or people etc. These small visual changes have not been measured in a scientific way.

Shadows & Reflections

Another thing that can not be measured by LPIP's PSIM or any other metric shadows and reflections. Even MSE per pixel + LPIPS vs the real source image could miss this.

If we compare the seed to seed outputs we can see that INT8 is closer to BF16 on the shadow, however it still has some odd shapes - Universal and MXFP8 look near identical in this case.

Just Use BF16?

So in this one example we clearly see BF16 is the best when it comes to mistakes, so lets just use BF16 right?

Well would you rather seed hunt for 4 hours or 1 hour? That is really what it boils down too. Even if you have a super computer, would you rather have 100 images or 10?

Would you notice the shadow if you did not have something to compare it too?

In summery if you still can not decide what format to use.

I hate comfy - Use Forge Neo or universal FP8 until Convrot is supported by more platforms

I want speed plus the highest available quality - Use INT8 Convrot

I use linux, I have TE engine and Swizzling I am a super nerd and want the fastest speed possible on my Blackwell or newer card - Use MXFP8 Nerd
