TL;DR:
Sales let you discount your paid models for a window you choose, either a percentage off or a flat amount of Buzz off.
Announcements let you post to your followers from Creator Studio, with a cover image, a title, and a button.
Sales and follower announcements need a creator score of 10,000. Profile-only announcements have no floor.
Sale days are capped per calendar month: Free 3, Bronze 7, Silver 14, Gold 30.
Announcements are capped by how often you send: Free one every 30 days, Bronze one every 14, Silver one a week, Gold two a week.
Profile-only announcements don't count against the limit.
Sales
You pick some versions, pick a discount, pick the dates. While it runs, your model cards carry a discount chip in the feed, the model page carries a banner, and there's an On Sale section on your profile.
The discount is either:
- A percentage off, up to 99%
- A flat Buzz amount off
Prices never go under 1 Buzz.
It applies to what people pay to download and to a paid generation price if you've set one. It does not touch your per-image generation fee. That's a separate thing and a sale doesn't discount it.
What can go on sale
A model version that already has a paid access price on it.
The month budget
Every calendar month you get a number of sale days: Free 3, Bronze 7, Silver 14, Gold 30. A five day sale spends five of them, and part of a day counts as a whole one. A sale is charged to the month it starts in, so one that runs across the boundary doesn't cost you anything out of next month.
Cancel early and you get the days you didn't use back. Cancel before it starts and it costs nothing at all.
After you schedule it
You can schedule up to two weeks ahead. Once a sale exists you can cancel it, end it early, or make the discount deeper. You can't extend it, make it shallower, or add more versions. Sales are a promise to a buyer, and we'd rather not let that promise get worse after someone has seen it.
Announcements
One way to advertise your latest model or new sale is via the new Announcements feature we added to the Creator Studio. Write a title and up to 500 characters, add a cover image, add a button if you want one, set the dates, publish.
Your followers see it in the Announcements tab of their notifications. It also shows on your profile while it's running. They get the same visual treatment as the announcements we run on the homepage.
How often you can send an announcement notification?
Free: 1 every 30 days
Bronze: 1 every 2 weeks
Silver: 1 every week
Gold: 2 every week
It's a rolling window, so it's counting your last few sends rather than resetting on the 1st. When you're out, we tell you the date it's next available for you.
An announcement set to "profile only" doesn't count. Those are free and unlimited. You only spend a slot when a notification goes out to followers.
Don't want to get notified about a creator's announcements?
There's a bell on a creator's profile that any visitor can switch off. That stops their announcements reaching your Announcements tab. It doesn't hide the announcements on their profile, it just keeps them out of your notifications.
Questions
Why the 10,000 creator score?
Both of these are ways to reach people, and a brand new account shouldn't arrive and immediately start broadcasting. You can see your score at the bottom of account settings.
I just scheduled a sale and the page hasn't caught up.
Usually it's instant. Scheduling, cancelling and deepening all clear the cache as they go. If one doesn't take, give it an hour, because the sale windows sit in a cache that refreshes hourly.
What someone actually gets charged is read fresh every time, so the checkout price is always the real one. If the page and the charge disagree, the charge is right.
What if two of my sales cover the same version?
The buyer gets the deepest discount. They don't stack.
How many models can I include in a sale?
As many as you want!
Does my sale discount early access?
No. Early access isn't a permanent price, and a sale only works on permanent ones.
What happens to my sale if my membership lapses?
Your monthly sale-day budget drops back to the free rate, and any sale already running keeps running. Nothing gets cancelled out from under a buyer who saw it.
Can I edit an announcement after it's out?
Yes, and fixing a typo won't republish it to the top of anyone's feed. But if you flip one from profile-only to going out to followers, that's when it spends a slot.
If I delete an announcement, do I get the slot back?
No. The slot is spent when it goes out.
What happened to the message on my profile?
We moved most of them into announcements for you. Nearly eight hundred that had HTML in them... Sadly those won't be supported in the new system.
