BUZZ for downloads, BUZZ for generation
What do you think about the fact that here on Civitai, model creators (LoRAs or checkpoints) can charge BUZZ for downloads or for image generation using the online tool?
Personally, I’m not a fan of this method of earning BUZZ!
Before Civitai introduced this way of acquiring BUZZ, I used to receive "yellow BUZZ" solely through donations from users who utilized my models in the online generator.
That way, I averaged about 1,500 "yellow BUZZ" per month. I used this BUZZ to create more models (since I can't generate them all offline) or for bounties.
Of course, there are still very kind and generous users who consistently support my work with a bit of BUZZ, but the overall return has dropped significantly.
That said, I don't want to complain, and I thank everyone who supports my work.
But back to the main point of my question.
As I mentioned, I don't care for the new method, which is why my models will remain free for everyone. It’s enough for me if users leave a comment on my models—positive or negative, it doesn't matter; I appreciate any feedback. Of course, I’m also happy when users "like" my models, provided they actually enjoy them.
Why don't I like the new method?
I look at a lot of LoRAs. Some are interesting to me, offer inspiration for new LoRAs, or could serve as useful additions for my own images.
But—as has happened often—the sample images look promising, yet my own tests reveal that the models aren't actually well-suited for my specific purposes.
I imagine I’m not the only one who feels this way; other users—including those testing my models—likely experience the same thing.
Naturally, it’s frustrating for me to have wasted several thousand BUZZ on a download that I could have put to better use.
