Some people have asked why I decided to make my LoRAs paid downloads on Civitai, so I wanted to explain my decision openly.
My LoRAs now cost 100 Buzz, and I accept Blue Buzz. This is important to me because Blue Buzz is accessible to everyone: it can be earned through simple activities such as liking, commenting, following creators, and sharing images.
My goal is not to be greedy. If money were my only motivation, I would accept Yellow Buzz exclusively. Instead, I chose a system that allows people to access my work by simply being active within the Civitai community.
Creating a high quality LoRA takes a lot of time. I carefully build and refine my datasets, test different versions, fix problems, and work to make every release as polished and useful as possible. The Buzz I receive helps support that process and gives me the motivation and resources to continue producing more LoRAs.
I also believe this creates a healthier balance between creators and users.
For example, my Arcane LoRA has reached more than 1,422 downloads. I am genuinely grateful for everyone who downloaded it, and especially for those who took a moment to leave a like, say thank you, follow my page, or share an image they created with it. However, these small gestures are not always made, even though they can make a real difference to a creator.
Charging 100 Buzz is not intended as a punishment or a barrier. It is simply a way to establish a small and fair exchange. Once someone has paid for the download, I no longer feel that I should expect anything else from them. Likes, comments, follows, and shared images are still greatly appreciated, of course but they become welcome acts of support rather than an unspoken expectation.
I love sharing my work, but I also appreciate meaningful exchange. I am genuinely interested in seeing what people create with my LoRAs. Your images can surprise me, inspire me, and even give me ideas for future projects.
Ultimately, I believe this approach can benefit both creators and users. It allows creators to keep investing time and care into their work, while users can obtain quality resources using Buzz that is reasonably easy to earn through community participation.
