Update: Booru Tag Gallery got a fresh coat of paint. It now shares the same look as Booru Prompt Gallery, with a light and dark theme. Along the way I added a new Prompt filter to browse General tags by what they describe (Clothing › Legwear, Appearance › Eyes, Pose, Scenery…). Everything else works just like before.
I built this app with the idea of making it easier to search for tags on booru, especially for those who don't speak English or don't know how to look things up directly on the Danbooru wiki.
What does this app do?
The original idea was super simple: just a search bar with fuzzy search to help you find the tag you need... but things escalated way faster than I expected.
For example, if you search for "skirt", you'll get a bunch of related results, letting you find the exact style of skirt you want or even some actions connected to it.
Note: cards that show "Content blocked by NSFW filter" instead of an image are hidden by the NSFW filter.
Since "skirt" is such a general tag, opening it shows its wiki along with a sort of tag group:
Here you can see more info about skirts: types, materials, patterns, colors, even actions. While browsing, I stumbled upon an interesting tag: "overskirt".
I just clicked on it, and boom, more detailed info opened up.
I had never seen this tag before, and it looked like a great way to give my character a different touch. But then, one of the related posts also caught my eye because of its outfit.
When I opened the image, I saw all of its tags. What I was really after was the leg outfit, and on the right I found: "black thighhighs, garter straps, platform boots". With a quick right-click (or a long press on mobile), I copied each tag straight into my generation prompt. If you want them all at once, there's a "Copy all tags" button too.
I came in looking for a skirt... and ended up discovering a whole bunch of new outfit tags for my character!
From there, you can just keep exploring. Maybe "thighhighs" catches your attention: you click it, and now you've got even more info, more images, more tags. You can keep going almost infinitely... or until you land on a tag that doesn't have info. If that happens, you can go back to previous images or wiki pages with the arrows on the top left.
That's basically the main loop of the web app, but it also has a few extra features.
Main Features
Fuzzy search: allows some margin of error in your searches, so you don't have to type the exact tag you're looking for.
Alias resolver: keeps you on the right track. If you search for "flush", it'll say "hey, the correct tag is blush" and automatically fix it for you. Since this can interfere with some searches, I made it toggleable.
Translate input: automatically translates your search from your language to English using the DeepL API, so translations are actually pretty solid.
Prompt filter (new): narrows General tags down by what they describe in a prompt (clothing, pose, appearance, scenery, equipment…) and their subcategories. It works together with the search: "thigh" + Clothing › Legwear gives you thighhighs, black thighhighs, single thighhigh and the rest, without the noise.
NSFW filter: well… it's an NSFW filter 👍 you can turn it on or off.
And that's basically it for the options.
Final notes
Just like my other app, Booru Prompt Gallery, this one's hosted with free resources. That means both the hosting and the DeepL API might run out at some point, and if that happens, the app could start failing. Apologies in advance if it does.
