Unfortunately, due to recent changes to the OG Civitai Trainer (in addition to the introduction of their new trainer), I can no longer properly train characters with complex outfits or characters that have 4 or more different outfits.
The main issues are:
Kohya-SS: The trainer has been changed and now limits training to a maximum of 20 steps, which is simply not enough for the more complex characters I usually work on. It's not possible to resume training after 20 steps, making it impossible to continue improving a LoRA over multiple sessions.
AI-Toolkit: I've tried using it as an alternative, but the results have been really disappointing. In my experience, it's significantly worse than Kohya-SS, especially when dealing with complex outfits.
I've also been trying to train Illustrious LoRAs locally, but I still haven't figured out the right training parameters. I tried using the same settings I previously used with the Civitai Trainer, but unfortunately, the results are nowhere near the same.
For now, I'll have to avoid training Illustrious LoRAs for characters with complex designs or multiple outfits until I find a reliable solution. Simpler characters, such as Nareko Michigami, may still be possible.
Unfortunately, this also means that I can no longer update my Sakuya Izayoi or Patchouli Knowledge LoRAs for the time being, since they have a large number of outfits, some of which are particularly complex (especially in Patchouli's case).
I don't know when I'll be able to return to training these more complex Illustrious LoRAs.
If anyone has experience training Illustrious LoRAs locally, especially LoRAs featuring a single character with multiple outfits (including complex ones), and knows which settings work best to achieve results similar to the old Civitai Kohya-SS Trainer without overfitting, I'd really appreciate any advice or recommendations!
