Let me preface this by saying, for the longest time, I was purely reductionist in my thinking. I have years of experience as a poker player, and the many hours spent studying solvers, probabilities, game theory optimal strategies; left me doubting whether humans could compete with such raw computing power. Fast forward a few years and i'm back in the same situation in my artistic exploration.
I have always cringed abit when some players spoke about exploitative play, intuition, the "human" factor"; because knowing the advantage someone using solvers had i thought there's no way that over time it could be a winning strategy.
Now I feel quite different.
Sure, the rate of progression is unlike anything we've seen before.
I'm told it's exponential.
BUT remember, humans have access to the INFINITE.
We've always had an ability to take whatever experience the universe (the most politically correct term i can think of) throws at us, and not only endure, but to turn that into art / innovation / invention.
Now , if we are able to merge these two power houses- to tell a uniquely human story with the ever evolving ai tools at our disposal.
We may just be able to express the inexpressible.
Just a thought.
"The limitations of our biological equipment may condemn us to the role of Peeping Toms at the keyhole of eternity. But at least let us take the stuffing out of the keyhole, which blocks even our limited view.”
