AnimateDiff Lightning Dance Animations

AnimateDiff Lightning Dance Animations

Introduction:

In this tutorial, we'll explore how to transform ordinary videos into mesmerizing AI-generated animations using Stable Diffusion and the user-friendly ComfyUI interface. This article is intended to go alongside my YouTube video. Whether you want to animate a cute character performing a viral TikTok dance or bring your own custom videos to life, this workflow will guide you every step of the way.

Prerequisites:

Before diving in, make sure you have the following resources:

- AnimateDiff Lightning 8-step Motion Module: (https://huggingface.co/ByteDance/AnimateDiff-Lightning/blob/main/animatediff_lightning_8step_comfyui.safetensors)

- AnimateDiff ControlNet Model (for second ksampler pass): (https://huggingface.co/crishhh/animatediff_controlnet/blob/main/controlnet_checkpoint.ckpt)

- Optional: MatureMergeholics Mix WillsAdventure Checkpoint

- Optional: IP-Adapter for face consistency, SparseCtrl to guide the video, and other ControlNets like Depth.

Step 1: Prepare Your Video

Start by selecting a video that you want to animate. If you're using a looping video, like a Fortnite emote, you can use the Loop Maker Google Colab (https://github.com/markuryy/LoopMaker) to ensure a seamless loop. Crop and edit your video using an online tool like [EZGif](https://ezgif.com/) to get the desired framing and length.

Step 2: Set Up ComfyUI

Import the ComfyUI workflow (https://civitai.com/articles/4769) and make sure you have all the necessary models and resources loaded, including the AnimateDiff Lightning 8-step motion module and the AnimateDiff ControlNet model for the second ksampler pass.

Step 3: Adjust Prompts and Settings

Customize your prompt to achieve the desired style for your animation. Experiment with different settings:

- Sampler: Euler

- Scheduler: SGM uniform

- CFG scale: 2 (or 1 for faster inference, but removes negative prompt)

- Use badhandv4 negative textual embedding for better hands

Step 4: Create Test Renders

Start with a small number of frames (e.g., 32) for your initial test renders. This will help you fine-tune your prompts and settings without waiting for a full-length render.

Step 5: Scale Up to Full Animation

Once you're satisfied with your test renders, scale up to the full 300 frames at 20 frames per second for a smooth, high-quality animation.

Step 6: Review and Share

Watch your final animation and make any necessary adjustments. Feel free to share your creation with the community and inspire others to explore the possibilities of AI-generated animations!

Tips and Tricks:

- Experiment with different motion LoRAs to add unique flair to your animations.

- Use IP-Adapter for improved face consistency, SparseCtrl to guide the video, and other ControlNets like Depth for added realism.

- If you encounter lag, right-click on the video outputs in ComfyUI and select "hide preview."

Conclusion:

With Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI, creating captivating animations has never been easier. Whether you're animating viral TikTok dances or bringing your own ideas to life, this workflow provides a powerful toolset for all your animation needs. Happy animating!
