Civitai's followers system leaves much to be desired, especially if you're not uploading a LoRA or a Model. While these types of uploads do get some attention, those who upload pictures often find themselves struggling to gain any visibility.
Currently, even users with a large following face challenges. For instance, accounts with 4,000 or 5,000 followers rarely get more than 10 reactions on a picture per day. A notable example is Lykon, the creator of DreamShaper, who has 20,000 followers. His last picture, posted four months ago, received only 39 reactions, while other posts uploaded more recently have garnered over 100 reactions. This inconsistency is puzzling.
One issue is that many users are unaware they can adjust their settings to see posts from followed accounts on the images page. People follow accounts expecting to see all their uploads, but end up missing out.
To improve this system, Civitai should ensure that followers see new pictures from the accounts they follow on the front page by default. At the very least, a prompt should appear when someone clicks the follow button, asking if they want to see the new posts from this person on the front page. Alternatively, adding a new tab next to Models and Images, labeled "Followed," could help followers easily access new content from the people they follow.
Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts on this matter.
