Image tag editing and why creators should have more control.

Obviously the auto tag detector is amazing. Especially considering that its AI. It has saved me from uploading many pieces of spicy AI art that would lead to me getting another strike. However, I think that it's silly that AI artists on this platform can't automatically add their own tags to their posts. At the very least we should be able to set up more tags when we initially post. The current format where you can apply 5 tags when you post is very limited in its scope. If artists want to edit tags they shouldn't have to bring it up to a community vote.

Huh, I made a partial rhyme by accident. Anyways, once a piece of AI art has been posted, it has already passed Civitai's rigorous testing. If the piece of art violates guidelines the competent filter and block system catches it and stops you from posting it in the first place. After that point, artists should be able to add tags and edit tags as they see fit. Adding tags would give artists more traction to spread their work to a broader demographic. Adding those tags will also help people who don't want to see a certain tag avoid seeing it.

Obviously, there could be an issue where people just spam tags that aren't relevant to their work to reach more people. That being said, the hypothetical issue could easily resolved by having a limit on the number of tags you can add within a certain period. I have to say being able to add certain tags directly to an image like [REDACTED] or [REDACTED] or even [REDACTED], would be extremely useful to me.

Anyways that's just my musings on something I see as an issue. I also want to add that the auto tag detector isn't flawless. In fact the reason I got an initial strike is because I posted furry art the auto tag detector didn't recognize as violations. It also sometimes sees perfectly fine to post anthro furry art as [REDACTED]. Despite all of it's flaws though I love it.
