Gratitude musing one active month on CivitAI

One Month as an active member, 100 posts, 350+ images, 3k+ reactions, 60+ followers, several chats, comments and a lot of hours spent generating images and looking at other feeds. That's a fact based high level summary.

But I am writing this article to add another aspect into my journey, how being creative on CivitAI influences me. It’s rather a public journal, rather than an article about a specific topic. So continue at your own risk.

Being creative using words

It’s like @AIDigitalMediaAgency has put it so nicely into his CivitAI fan song - “Every Image tells a secret, in this endless stream.” That resonates deeply with me. Some of the image ideas are streams of unconscious unprocessed thoughts and resurfacing memories.

Another thing that resonates with me is how many creative and active profiles contain a hint about how and why creating images helped people become healthier in their lives.

Even though it’s only been a month on the platform, I can feel this too for me. It’s so easy to create something. You can describe an image and get pretty close with FLUX, and generate “little happy surprises” on other times. It’s a great way to create visual art for those who are wordsmiths in their mind. Turning your inner monologue into something aesthetic.

The BUZZ game

Then there's BUZZ game of getting reactions, leaving reactions, trying to be funny, witty, eye-catching. Another aspect that has both sides: Being helpful by nudging us to connect and relate AND putting the old game of social media attention into our hands. To be honest, that's one of my struggles.

Currently, I handle that well enough - I focus on topics and ideas that I like and that I want to see. If something catches an eye in the feed then that’s great. But the need to check which image performs great, has decreased immensely since I turned off those specific notifications.

But it’s not about being featured, it is not about comparison. For me it is about creating something, being part of something, enjoying the visuals.

Gratefulness Reflection

I am grateful and cherish the moments when I can turn an idea into a child-like play of words and finally a visual. It helps me fill my need to create.

I am grateful when a BUZZ beggar image resonates with others who find it funny, creative or triggers a following. Yes, that helps me feel seen and understood.

I am grateful for the moments, when a stunning picture catches my eye on the feed, reminds me of something or triggers the question of how this was prompted. It helps me appreciate (digital) beauty.

I am grateful for the random chats and connections with others that I create. It lets me feel connected with something bigger.

Parting words

A month passed and I just started the journey. But it feels good to share my beginners impression. I love creating an article so my future self can look back and remember the initial thrill and excitement.

If you read this far, thank you for glimpsing into my world. I hope it could spark and kindle the sense of joy and gratitude for being creative. Happy generating!
