Strange, scary, and creepy, but very beautiful

More than 100 followers...

for the collection. I have a bit less. :)

The first goal has been achieved, so I can calmly set the next one and share a bit about my plans.

More than 100 followers and more than 600 amazing works—thank you so much for that! Honestly, I thought it would take more time.

For the past 10 days, I focused on adding works to the collection that align with my aesthetic vision and theme, almost completely ignoring everything else. Now that the interim goal has been reached, I'm slightly changing the selection criteria.

As you may have already noticed, I don’t just throw everything in and I don't add creepy things to the collection just for the sake of it. The main thing is aesthetics, followed by strangeness and creepiness. Sometimes I really itch to add amazing works, but I’ve limited myself to the theme, and there are other great collections for that. If you didn’t know, here are a couple of examples: Outstanding AI-Art by @ArtifyAI (my muse) or Fantastic AI-Art by @Castr0 (though he doesn’t really deserve this mention). Friends, we’re not competing here; we’re all about the extension of AI art.

How to Get Into the Collection

Aesthetics, theme, and quality remain the key factors, but I want to increase the value of nominations and benefit the community.

  • Presence of Metadata.

A prompt is like a manifesto: “Here, look, take it, create—I don’t mind. There’s plenty of creativity left!” Plus, it’s a good way to resolve disputes over who borrowed from whom. 8)

  • Publication Time.

The collection is current; it can’t be otherwise on Civitai. Works are added only if they are less than 24 hours old from the moment of publication. Although exceptions may apply. 8)

  • I See Your Works.

If you ban me (like Castr0 did for some reason), I won’t be able to see your works. And the global feed is much worse than Hieronymus Bosch painting drawn by Freddy Krueger in the back alleys of Harlem with coals from a hellish torture chamber (prompt for cover image 8)). To avoid this chaos, I try to hide works from low-quality NSFW artists (they already more than 400). Sometimes I don’t even check who posted it. So be careful with your content.

  • Recommend Your Works.

For recommendations, you can simply tag me (@vircat) in the comments of the image. But only if they meet all the criteria above. And don’t forget about aesthetics and theme.

Plans:

I’m not planning to abandon the collection, but it takes a considerable amount of time (I’m also writing this article right now). I hope that soon the developers of Civitai (hey, @theally) will take care of this section, and the process will become easier. More search filters... a dream. 8)

My goal is for the collection to become a repository of cool ideas. For that, I want to add another criterion—alignment between the image and the prompt. But honestly, I don’t have the energy for that right now. Finding a good image from random generations isn’t too hard (with the emergence of Flux, it’s even easier). Especially if you have good taste, even if it’s not as perfect as mine. But getting a neural network to create the envisioned image—that’s the real skill. I believe that openness leads to understanding, and understanding resolves all conflicts.

Let’s keep working!

P.S.: If you like the idea of collections—support it, even a simple mention in your profile would be appreciated.

UPD: I forgot the most important thing, link to the collection. 8)
