Hi, I received some DMs last night asking for help making clothing LoRA and I thought I'd make a post for easy access to anyone curious.
TOOLS
Basic drawing program
I use Clip Studio Paint but anything will work.
Lama Cleaner
I believe you can run this locally, but I just use the online version.
RemoveBG
You can remove backgrounds in SD, but I tend to generate images while working so I use this online version so I can multitask.
TRICKS
Censor Faces

This trick was found by dear rerorerorero
Personally, I don't regulate with nude images or close-ups, since I do my training on Civitai. So far, it's worked well!
Just remember to tag with "faceless, identity censor" and you're golden.
Remove background
It doesn't need to be pixel-perfect, but will help a lot.
This image was generated on a version without a white background, as you can see, the lamp transferred from the dataset.
10/3/2024 EDIT
Today I encountered something interesting
My dataset contained dark background, and it seems like I had been too sloppy cleaning it up, so my outputs ended up like this on a high epoch. Luckily, picking a lower one removed it, but I thought I would mention this anyway. You don't need to be pixel-perfect, but on certain backgrounds you may have to be a little more careful.
Clean up outfits
If you're making a cosplay LoRA, you may not want to do this unless you want people complaining it's missing x or y.
But if it's an original outfit, I highly recommend this.
I use Clip Studio Paint to color over easy stuff, then Lama Cleaner for parts with patterns for example.
Magneta: I just didn't like the cherry headpiece.
Green: Logo would cause trouble in training since it contains text.
Blue: I didn't think the LoRA would understand what that thing is. I also just wanted easy symmetry.
