Beginning of September, Civit featured my image on the main page. How nice of them! Imagine all the buzz coming my way! Except I didn't get any.
UPDATE: people have pointed out that the daily maximum buzz from reactions is 100. This 1) sucks immensely and 2) is the probable explanation for why I barely got anything from the image being featured.
You see, I have my generating sprees every few days, but between them there are no big buzz expenditures, so it's pretty easy to keep track of what's going on. And with the reactions coming, I was keeping track. It was business at usual, that is to say, not much happening.
After a few days the image amassed about 1500 reactions, which should have translated into 3000 buzz. I certainly didn't see anywhere near that much, if any, so I made a support ticket.
It took three weeks to get a response. At this point, the number of reactions reached and stabilized at 3150. I'll quote from the response and comment.
SUPPORT: I've checked out your account and was able to review all the Buzz transactions that were related to that specific image ID. Our system records show that you received at least 820 Buzz for reaction rewards with this image.
I didn't register "at least" 820 buzz, although this figure is way smaller than expected, so it is possible that over time I got 820. I don't know, I won't argue with that.
SUPPORT: Please note that while the total count for reactions - for thumbs up, likes, etc. - might be 2K+, the reward only applies to the single reaction given by a distinct user, and not multiple reactions given to the same image.
As of now, the image has 1964 likes. That's a lower bound on single reactions given by a distinct user. Next is 706 hearts. When I react, I usually quick one of the emotes. Sometimes it's thumbs up and laughing. You tell me in the comments if you click thumbs up and hearts on the same image. Anyway, the point is, at the very least 1964 likes should translate to 3928 buzz.
SUPPORT: We do have a bug, however, that is a client-side issue where reactions aren't always giving Buzz to both users and creators if the user has multiple tabs open, causing an issue with the connection. Our Development Team is aware of this bug, and they are evaluating potential solutions, but this can be difficult since it's mostly a client-side problem regarding best practices for browser performance.
This is an interesting one. Think about it: either this bug has affected the amount of buzz I got significantly, or it didn't. If it didn't, the bug doesn't explain anything. Now, if it did... It means not only I got scammed in this particular instance, but everybody gets scammed on a daily basis.
