1)Windows:
1.Check VRAM usage for every program with Windows Task Manager:
2.Open Task Manager > Details
3.Click right click on columns panel and enable - Dedicated GPU memory and Shared GPU memory
4.Analyze which app use VRAM and close it.
2)Optimizations
1.Disable startup programs (Autoruns)
2.Optimize Visual Effects (Right-click This PC > Properties > Advanced system settings > Settings under Performance > Adjust for best performance)
3.Update Graphics Drivers to the latest available version
4.Lower Display Resolution & Refresh Rate
5.Disable Windows Transparency Effects (Settings > Personalization > Transparency effects - Off)
6.Turn off graphics acceleration for Terminal
7.Using 2 GPU in 1 PC. For example use a iGPU as a video card for monitors outputs and using a Nvidia RTX 5090 for AI tools. That utilize 0% of VRAM of RTX 5090 what can have high benefits for AI Tools. An average windows (wdm.exe), browser and etc. use up to 2GB VRAM in background!
8.Restart PC
Browser:
1.Turn off graphics acceleration in browser.
2.Use a chrome://gpuclean/ in you Chromium browser to clean VRAM
3.Turn on Memory Saver function - Maximum
4.Close unnecessary tabs
Not recommended but should works:
1.Using Windows debloated version (Example: Windows X-Lite, AtlasOS, ReviOS or manual debloated with winutil)
2.Use NVCleanstall instead of GeForce Experience or NVIDIA app
