Introduction

When to add colors?

If you want to create a specific image with specific colors.

Note:

If you notice that other parts of the image are changing based on your color change, you may need to add additional color prompts to other parts of the image.

Example, let's say you want a pink background. Well, sometimes, you also get pink eyes, pink dress, pink hair, etc. That may not be desirable. While you can try to negative prompt out the pinkness, you may want to add specific colors instead.

In the following images, I have given examples on how to do that.

If you want to repeat this result, download the model, and use the same sampling methods used. I create images using my new scheduler, Karras Exponential which combines the best of both methods - quick inference and smooth blending between the two methods. Karras is a time-based method, wheras exponential is not. More can be read about it here on github.

For the below pictures, I did NOT use the same seed, so individual prompt changes shows a different picture, on purpose. General image settings: I used -1 with an additional -1 seed with a 0.1 strength, and I ran it with clip skip 2. Leftover clip skip from previous run - just left it on. You will get different results if you don't match the exact settings used in this guide. If you are developing a prompt with clip skip 0, you may need to adjust some things.

I use my models generally using CFG 7, clip skip 0, -1 with no additional seeds, but we're in a creative mood today, so here it is.

Step 1: Specify colors.

Picture 1: Orange dress, brown eyes

Effect: also brown hair. If that is not your desired hair color, change it by adding an additional positive prompt to specifically change the hair color.

Step 2: Specify clothing material

After you have your desired colors, setup, feel free to experiment with different background colors, different clothing colors, different hair and eye colors. Can add it other modifiers like type of clothing or style of clothing. I usually negative prompt "conservative" to get more flirty clothing styles. You could also try prompting out "midriff" to remove shots with exposed tummies.

Summary for Step 2

You can change objects on the screen by specifying what to draw. If you're noticing color bleeding you can specify negative prompts to addresss that color.

Example positive prompts: pink background, blonde-hair

Effect: Blonde hair with some parts pink hair.

Solution: add (\pink)\hair or pink hair to the negative prompt.

Step 3: Change the background

If you've developed a background already, add that before all of the above, and remove the specifics for the background, unless you want to keep the style, example (\blurred)\background. You could also try bokeh, if you like that, or any number of different styles.

For the cover art, I chose a simple prompt swap from blurred, dark to blurred, sunset.

Noticed that the lipstick was coming in rather bold and dark, so added a negative prompt to rid it, and here are the results
