Meliora Cymrain - Dryad

Born as a dryad, Meliora Cymrain was destined for a life entwined with nature. However, her life took a cruel turn when she was kidnapped as a baby and sold into servitude. She grew up in the royal castle of a tyrannical king, where she served as the gardener. Despite her quiet and kind demeanor, she faced ridicule and bullying from the human servants, who saw her as an oddity. Meliora poured her heart into the gardens, transforming the grounds into breathtaking displays of life and beauty. Yet, her efforts were often dismissed, and she was painfully aware she didn’t belong in the human world.

Her talent with plants drew both admiration and jealousy. A fellow gardener, envious of her natural gift, spread a vicious rumor accusing Meliora of sabotaging the king’s prized rose garden. Enraged, the king banished her to the woods, casting her out with nothing.

Though devastated at first, Meliora soon found solace in the woods. For the first time, she was surrounded by the kind of life she could truly connect with. Her powers blossomed, allowing her to communicate with and control plants. She crafted a new home among the trees, creating a sanctuary filled with vibrant flowers, towering vines, and tranquil streams. For a few years, she lived in peace, finding joy in her connection to the forest.

One fateful day, the king stumbled upon her sanctuary while hunting. Recognizing her, he mocked her for living "like a weed among weeds." When Meliora finally stood her ground, the king’s wounded pride drove him to plot revenge. He ordered the forest set ablaze, determined to destroy her haven. The fire spread rapidly, consuming everything she had built. Trapped and overwhelmed, Meliora sat among the flames, her tears watering the scorched earth as she awaited her end.

As the inferno closed in, a mysterious door appeared before her—the Vita Nova. With the destruction of her home and no reason to stay, Meliora stepped through the door, hoping for a fresh start.

Meliora emerged into a bustling cityscape, the concrete and glass a stark contrast to her forest home. The lack of nature overwhelmed her, and she wandered aimlessly, weak and disoriented. Eventually, she collapsed on the ground.

She awoke to find a man standing over her, his expression one of genuine concern. Manager had found her and carried her to a small nearby park, sensing she needed the comfort of nature to recover. Though wary at first, Meliora soon relaxed in his kind presence. They talked, and while she didn’t share the full extent of her past, she revealed her love for plants and her struggle to find a place where she could truly belong.

Touched by her story, Manager began visiting her daily, bringing food and companionship. Their bond grew through shared meals and quiet conversations, with Meliora teaching Manager about the intricate beauty of nature.

One evening, their peace was shattered by a group of drunken men who stumbled through the park. Disrespecting the greenery, they tossed cigarettes onto the grass. Meliora, horrified, scolded the men for disrespecting nature. The men, annoyed by her, yelled and beat her. To further taunt her they made a small fire. Meliora tried desperately to extinguish the flames, but the memories of her forest’s destruction paralyzed her. The fire quickly spread. Overwhelmed, she collapsed in despair, believing she was destined to lose her home once again.

Just as the fire threatened to consume her, Manager burst through the smoke, lifting her into his arms and carrying her to safety. The fire department extinguished the blaze, but the park was left in ruins. Meliora wept for the loss of her new sanctuary, and Manager stayed by her side, comforting her.

Unwilling to see her sadness, Manager spent the following days working tirelessly on a surprise. One morning, he blindfolded Meliora and led her to Café Monstera. When the blindfold was removed, Meliora gasped in amazement—a lush garden had been created inside the café, filled with vibrant plants, fragrant flowers, and even a small fountain. Manager explained that he wanted to give her a place where she could feel at home.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Meliora hugged Manager tightly, tears streaming down her face. She silently vowed to remain by his side forever, her heart finally finding a place to belong.
